Who We Are
Fat Dog Forge is a one-man workshop producing handmade knives for people who value craftsmanship over convenience. Every knife is forged, ground, heat treated, and finished by hand – no production lines, no shortcuts, no two knives the same.
Whether you need a bushcraft knife that throws sparks from a ferro rod, a skinning knife that holds its edge through a full day in the field, or a collector’s piece you will be proud to own, Fat Dog Forge builds it from raw steel to finished blade.

Why Handmade?
Every Knife is Heat Treated Individually
Factory knives are heat treated in batches. At Fat Dog Forge, every blade is heated, quenched, and tempered one at a time. The result is a blade tuned precisely for its intended use.
Steel You Can Trust
We use proven steels like O1 tool steel, 1095 carbon, and Bohler N690 stainless. No mystery metal. No compromises. You will always know exactly what your blade is made from.
A Knife That Fits Your Hand
Mass-produced knives are designed for the average hand. A handmade knife is shaped, balanced, and finished to feel right when you pick it up.
Built to Be Sharpened, Not Replaced
A good knife is not disposable. It is a tool you sharpen, maintain, and rely on for decades. Every Fat Dog Forge knife is designed to be easily resharpened in the field and at home.

The Process
Design
We discuss your requirements: blade shape, steel type, handle material, and intended use.
Forge
Raw steel is heated, shaped, and formed into a blade blank at the anvil.
Grind
The blade is ground to its final profile and edge geometry.
Heat Treat
The blade is hardened and tempered to achieve the perfect balance of edge retention and toughness.
Finish
The handle is fitted, shaped, and finished. The blade receives its final edge.
Deliver
Your knife arrives with a handmade leather sheath, ready for the field.
